Responsibility Role Guidelines
Staff Roles
Staff roles encompass the Principal and Vice Principal (the unchanging constant of BUA who will always be roleplayed by a Moderator), Teacher Role, and the Faculty Role. Faculty can be broken down further into Gym Instructors, Rescue Instructors, Workshop Instructors, Guidance Counselors, and Nurses.

There will always be one Principal and one Vice Principal, and as many Teachers as there are classes, and lastly, ideally two of each Faculty Role. Currently, there are six Heroics Teachers and one Support Teacher. The maximum Faculty count is currently 12. Together this brings the count to 18 Staff Role OCs max.
Staff Role OCs are OCs that work directly with the U.A. High School and are employed by it, participating in educating the students. This is why they oversee certain channels and are expected to skim through them if possible to step in. In the case, students misbehave (ie. fights, breaking school property, etc.) in on-campus channels, bring this up in #staff-discuss. The first to correct student misbehavior in a channel, not explicitly supervised by Faculty, would be their homeroom Teacher. However, anyone can interfere.

Principal/Vice Principal
The principal and vice principal are not only the headmasters of the school in-character, but also act as the in-character hand of the Admin and the BUA Moderation Team if need be. The teachers are generally expected to follow their rulings if anything happens because they’re the ultimate authority in-school.
They can make in-character announcements to the whole school and can check in with teachers, their classes, and faculty in-character by hosting conference meetings.
Not only can they check in with the staff in a scheduled manner, but they can also appear unexpectedly in-character to send students to detention or to oversee how classes and other activities are going. They will always be present during detentions to oversee the students’ behavior.

Teacher
Teachers are essentially Game Masters for their class, as they plan and oversee the direction of their class within a set time frame. They are expected to make a lesson plan and be an active part of our server to ensure everything runs smoothly in their class. In their own respective classes, they act as the authority. Students are expected to follow them in-character and out-of-character. Should any issues arise, Teachers must report to the Moderation Team in the private “#staff-discussion”-channel.
Teachers can, and should, direct struggling students to Faculty characters as to lessen their own workload. Generally, they can do anything a normal teacher can, and a little more. Things such as personal sparring, etc. We expect everyone to know their limits, and all that is truly expected of a teacher is to keep the class roleplays up and functioning.
For fun, teachers are allowed to plan shared classes, and even activities off-campus, but please remember to notify the Moderation Team first. If you are unsure about anything related to teaching, don’t hesitate to ask a Moderator.
Classes are lettered (H) for Hero or (S) for Support and are numbered in a randomized order. Each Teacher, not only teaches a Hero Class but also doubles as a teacher for a common subject such as Mathematics. Although these lessons will generally happen out of roleplay.
In the Heroics Department, Teachers can easily take an example of activities within the BNHA Universe Canon. They are expected to offer the standard lessons and also any other lessons they wish to add.
Support Teachers have fewer examples in canon, and for this reason, their syllabus can vary more. This is more free but also gives them more responsibility. Hero Students can, additionally, book appointments with Support Students to get a second opinion on costume designs or any kind of support items. These items may be incorporated into the lessons as well.

Actions Teacher can take:
-
Teachers can give roleplayers a heads-up about improper IC or OOC conduct in the ooc-channel of the areas they oversee. Always tell the Moderation Team about this via DM or in #staff-discuss.
-
In addition, Teachers may In-character interfering with improper in-character conduct as they see fit, within the bounds of roleplaying. If this was all communicated and fits with the roleplay, there is no need to contact the Moderation Team.
-
Student in-character misdemeanors may result in detention, counseling, both, etc.
-

Substitute Teacher
As expected, if one of the regular Teachers needs help, or if they are unavailable for a time out-of-character, a substitute teacher will help or host their lessons following the Teachers’ lesson plans, or by making their own lesson. Substitute Teachers are something all Faculty can opt into being, and there is no separate Staff Role for them.
While substituting, the Faculty member has the same authority as the Teacher. If you need a substitute for your class, please contact the Mod Team. Also, if you wish to opt-out of the Substitute role permanently, please notify the Mod Team.

Faculty
Faculty, much like the teachers, can assume the position of a Game Master and plan their own lessons that students must specifically sign up for in the Mundane Lesson period. Their general activity is to keep an eye on what happens in the areas they govern over, and they can step in if they deem the students are going too far and/or badly breaking the in-character rules. Generally, it’s good to ask before hopping in, but some situations can require immediate intervention.
Faculty can, and should, redirect students to other faculty members, such as a Gym Instructor or sending a student struggling with self-esteem to a Guidance Counselor.
Please notify the Mod Team if you’re unsure about something or have concerns.

Gym Instructor
As the name suggests, Gym Instructors are expected to oversee and instruct students in the physical training areas in matters concerning physical training. They can also oversee spars between the students if asked to, and if fights happen, they are expected to resolve and put a halt to these spats.
Gym Instructors can also host their own lessons that are meant to hone the students' physical and/or in some cases their quirk-related skills that the students must sign up for. The activities must be physical but there is no need to keep them strictly serious: lessons could range from a game-like capture the flag to running laps and trying to best the students' personal score.

Rescue Instructor
Rescue Instructors have the unique position of being in charge of the Unforeseen Simulation Joint (USJ) and overseeing the operations of a student or several if they wish to practice in various environments and operations. Accidents can happen, so the Rescue Instructor is there to help prevent or halt anything dangerous from occurring. They are free to jump into any roleplay occurring in USJ.
Additionally, Rescue Instructors can have their own classes within the USJ the students can sign up for, and these classes should be relevant to rescue situations and learning various environments, such as how to unblock a path or how to save someone who has fallen into a frozen lake without causing further harm.

Workshop Instructor
Workshop Instructors are mainly expected to guide and oversee the work of Support students to make sure they don’t harm themselves while working on inventions and the like. They’re expected to offer advice and help.
They can also host special classes that students must sign up for that relate to their area of expertise: for example, safely building things, dismantling items in emergencies or forcing emergency shut-off to hypothetically help heroes or civilians.

Guidance Counselor
Like in a normal school, Guidance Counselors are mainly here to help the students with their personal problems, such as low self-esteem, quirk counseling, bullying, or issues with the staff, school or their home life.
Like other Faculty, Guidance Counselors may host lessons. These can occur even in the #conference-hall-rp to account for more students. These lessons may range from party games and getting to know new people to workshops on how to find out their quirk limits, etc.

Nurse
Nurses, like Recovery Girl in the canon BNHA universe, are mainly expected to simply help and heal students of their physical injuries and to help them with matters related to them via their quirk or via standard medical help. Not only that, but they can help students to get accommodations to their physical quirk complications and/or simply offering a vision test or something similar.
Like others, Nurses can host special lessons that the students must sign up for, and these need to not occur within the nurses’ office. These lessons can range from basic emergency procedures like learning CPR to identifying how to best help a fellow student or a civilian having an allergic reaction.

World Roles
World Role encompasses Pro Heroes, Villains, and Vigilantes. They function somewhat like a hybrid of Teacher and Faculty Roles due to the restrictions of their positions.
All World Role characters must be able to work together inside their Role. The Pro Heroes are working and undoubtedly understand the limits and demands of their occupation, whereas the Villains may have to work together with other Villains and you, the roleplayer, must accept this. Vigilantes, on the other hand, can be a little more unruly since they may act in the stead of either a Pro Hero or a Villain during events, still pushing their own agenda all the while: however, they must be able to do both even if inclined to act more akin to the other side of the conflict.
A free roleplay for World Roles is limited, and they can only appear casually and out-of-work where they can’t partake in heroism or villainy either, but rather masquerade as civilians. If your OC can’t masquerade as a civilian, especially Villains, due to being too recognizable or having an improper attitude, they can’t, unfortunately, partake in casual roleplay.
World characters only have limited opportunities to partake in specific events, and are expected to treat them like Teachers treat their classrooms. When they’re not having events, they act more akin to Faculty characters you can waitlist too. Pro Heroes can be waitlisted for small internship sessions, Villains will be waitlisted for internships as well as enemies (students possibly stopping a petty crime that the Villain roleplayer must know to keep as low stakes, etc.), and Vigilantes can fulfill both of these roles.
You can submit your existing Staff Role character for a World Role slot, but please keep in mind that if you submit your Staff Role to be a World Role, your one character will take up both the one Staff Role and the one World Role available to you and also count as taking up two character slots.
Our maximum for Pro Heroes is six, the maximum number of classes we have now. It’s the same for villains. As for Vigilantes, the maximum is three, half of the number of classes. This equals to a maximum of 15 World Role characters.

Pro Heroes
Pro Heroes, line in the BNHA canon, are licensed individuals who work to protect civilians from Villains and other threats and disasters. They are most likely part of their own or someone else’s Hero Agency.
In BUA, they will be expected to treat any possible Pro Hero-centered events like Teachers treat Homeroom class. They’re the Game Master for those classes, acting under a plan they devised that fits within the greater plan of our plot, offering exposition and information as it fits the roleplay. During these events, a Pro Hero and a Villain will most often work together to make their pre-planned plot work.
-
Actions Pro Heroes can take:
-
Giving roleplayers a heads-up about improper IC or OOC conduct in the ooc-channel of areas they oversee. Always tell the Moderation Team about this via DM or in #world-discuss.
-
In-character interfering with improper in-character conduct as they see fit within the bounds of roleplay. If this was all communicated and fits with the roleplay, there is no need to contact the Moderation Team.
-
Student in-character misdemeanor may result in detention, counseling, both, etc. if reported to U.A. High School.
-

Villains
The Role of a Villain is one of the ones that require the most responsibility. They are expected to create villainous situations, possibly with even high stakes, but have to make sure that nobody ends up dying. They also must not be inclined to outright murder the students for obvious reasons, and if they are, you must have a clear plan and reason as to why your OC is appropriate for the server and how you would keep this in check.
Villains treat villain attacks as Teachers treat classes, acting as the Game Master and for example offering exposition on threats/traps if your Villain has set some up. During these events, a Pro Hero and a Villain will most often work together to make their pre-planned plot work.
We also don’t allow freaky things in our server, so please keep that in mind when planning. Villains can cause bodily harm etc. just as Heroics students keep injuring each other but our server is still approximately PG-13.
-
Actions Villains can take:
-
Giving roleplayers a heads-up about improper IC or OOC conduct in the ooc-channel of areas they oversee. Always tell the Moderation Team about this via DM or in #world-discuss.
-
In-character interfering with improper in-character conduct as they see fit within the bounds of roleplay. If this was all communicated and fits with the roleplay, there is no need to contact the Moderation Team.
-
Vigilantes
Unlike Pro Heroes or Villains, Vigilante Role characters need to be more malleable. Vigilantes are much like the Substitutes of World Roles, and they will be expected to fulfill either the role of a Pro Hero or a Villain. While they function similarly to Pro Heroes and Villains, they don’t need to work together with anyone and are more of a wild card. Due to them being substituted, they may not get to roleplay as much as Pro Heroes or Villains, and may not be centered as much in certain events.

Actions Vigilantes can take:

Giving roleplayers a heads-up about improper IC or OOC conduct in the ooc-channel of areas they oversee. Always tell the Moderation Team about this via DM or in #staff-discuss.
